5th ANNUAL MEMORIAL AWARENESS BOARD
House of Commons Seminar
TRADITIONAL MEMORIALS Vs VIRTUAL MEMORIALS
On Thursday 11th November at 18.00 hrs, the Memorial Awareness Board (MAB), the organisation that campaigns to raise awareness of memorialisation and related issues, will hold a seminar and reception at the House of Commons.
The seminar, sponsored by Keith Simpson MP, will discuss the implications of Traditional Memorials and Virtual Memorials and how the memorialisation and bereavement industries are responding to the need for digitalisation.
Two speakers will present both sides of the issues in a friendly debate:
· Harriet Frazer of Memorials by Artist and The Memorial Arts Charity
· David Jones of Memorial Tags
A range of professionals from across the bereavement services industry will be in attendance, including; cemetery managers, funeral directors, memorial masons and other interested parties.
Mike Dewar, Campaign Director of the Memorial Awareness Board says, “This promises to be a thought provoking event, which will bring together people from all sides of the memorialisation and bereavement industry. The key is to openly discuss how we can continue working towards maintaining better cemeteries in this time of digital change. With more consumers moving to memorialise on line, it is important we face these changes and find ways of working with both traditional and new technologies.”
Tickets for the event are priced at £25.00 plus VAT.
